Our purpose is to provide an opportunity for youth who have encountered hardship in our community to experience a positive relationship with members of law enforcement while shopping for themselves and family members in a safe and secure environment.
Our mission is to help under privileged children from our community come together with local Law Enforcement in an inclusive, non-threatening environment that will encourage open and honest communication with Law Enforcement Officers to remove any fear the youths may have when interacting with officers, and to help educate them regarding the role that the officers play in our community.
The Children selected to participate in the program go through an extensive referral and screening process. This includes referrals from school officials, church leaders, and individual officers. Applications are accepted from parents/guardians and other family and friends.
These applications are then reviewed by a panel of seven local residents to ensure the children meet specified economic and age requirements and preference is given to those who have had or witnessed a negative contact with law enforcement through a parent or sibling's involvement with the Justice system.
